Monee Country Oaks offers 90 attached townhome-style condominiums built in the mid to late 1990s in the progressive south suburb of Monee, and shares its village boundaries with communities like Crete, University Park, and Peotone.

Monee honors its rich heritage, dating back to 1853, and is named after a French Ottawa Indian woman named Marie LeFevre Bailly. Young Marie was called "Mah-ree" by the French, the Ottawa had no sound corresponding with the letter "r," and thus called the little girl "Mah-nee." French treaty clerks later wrote the name "Mo-nee," giving birth to name of our wonderful village.

Monee is committed to the education of its youth, through the Crete-Monee School District 201-U, and Monee Country Oaks students attend Monee Elementary, Crete-Monee Middle School, and Crete-Monee High School.
Crete-Monee School District is located in a vibrant, predominantly professional south suburban area just 30 minutes south of Chicago. The district encompasses eight schools, serving students from PreK through high school, and brings together four close-knit communities to form a true unity. With a student population of around 4,300, District 201-U reflects a rich diversity of social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
