BEFORE Submitting Your Work Order - READ THE BELOW
 
 
FIRST: Review the Maintenance Responsibility Chart requirements that you are responsible for versus what the association is responsible for. Typically, only common elements fall under the association's responsibility to make repairs. These areas are defined in the governing documents (bylaws, declarants) or the maintenance responsibility chart if the association has one prepared by a law firm.
 
 
What Are Work Orders?
 
An association work order is a formal request for repair, operations, or maintenance work the association needs for the maintenance areas that it is responsible for - Common Elements. 
 
Work orders are typically initiated by owners, but can also be created by the association for repair(s) or maintenance tasks and clarifies the details of the job.
 
A work order includes all the information related to the task requested and outlines the process. Moreover, it includes other details such as the requester’s name, address, photos, and other special instructions to facilitate the repair.
 
Be detailed!! - Include the location, date, time of the issue, and highly recommended/required, attach photos or videos.
 
Associations need to maintain the community’s common areas to keep property values high. This also ensures that the members are satisfied with the association.
